Polar Skate Co. is one of the best independent skate brands in the world. It was founded in 2011 by Pontus Alv, a legendary Swedish skater from Malmö, who, in addition to being the founder, also works as creative director, illustrator, filmmaker, editor, skater, and a dedicated DIY spot builder.
Other people closely associated with Polar include Jacob Ovgren and Stefan Narančić, graphic designers responsible for most of the artwork featured on the decks and apparel.
The collections are inspired by art, culture, and the skate scene, and much of the artwork is created by the team’s own skaters.
Polar Skate Co.’s slogan is “inspire others to inspire themselves.”
Polar was named “European Brand of the Year” at the Euro Skate Awards in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2019.
